克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)公布:封裝天線技術(shù)先驅(qū)張躍平和劉兌現(xiàn)獲獎(jiǎng)
IEEE天線與傳播學(xué)會(huì)今天宣布,授予 張躍平和劉兌現(xiàn)2020 年克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)(John D. Kraus Antenna Award),以表彰他們對(duì)封裝天線技術(shù)(Antenna-in-Package (AiP) Technology)所做出的開創(chuàng)性貢獻(xiàn),以及封裝天線技術(shù)對(duì)無線通信、雷達(dá)、虛擬與增強(qiáng)現(xiàn)實(shí)、物聯(lián)網(wǎng)等應(yīng)用的革命性影響。
IEEE天線與傳播學(xué)會(huì)同時(shí)宣布,頒獎(jiǎng)儀式將于2020 年7 月5至7月10 日在加拿大蒙特利爾召開的IEEE天線與傳播學(xué)會(huì)年度大會(huì)期間舉行。因受疫情影響,今年大會(huì)及頒獎(jiǎng)儀式將以虛擬方式進(jìn)行。
張躍平,無線電電子學(xué)家,新加坡南洋理工大學(xué)教授;劉兌現(xiàn)是美國IBM Thomas J. Watson研究中心研究員與杰出發(fā)明家。張躍平與劉兌現(xiàn)也曾于2012年榮獲IEEE天線與傳播匯刊謝昆諾夫論文獎(jiǎng)(IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation Sergi A. Schelkunoff Transactions Prize Paper Award)。這使得他們兩人與加州大學(xué)洛杉磯分校Yahya Rahmat-Samii教授,成為目前世界上即獲得過克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)也獲得過謝昆諾夫論文獎(jiǎng)的三位人士!Yahya Rahmat-Samii教授是美國工程院院士,去年當(dāng)選為中國工程院外籍院士。

克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)
克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)(John D. Kraus Antenna Award)由John D. Kraus于2004年通過IEEE天線與傳播學(xué)會(huì)設(shè)立,旨在表彰在天線技術(shù)上作出重要貢獻(xiàn)的個(gè)人或團(tuán)隊(duì)。克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)是天線界最負(fù)盛名、最崇高的一個(gè)獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。每一年的克勞斯天線獎(jiǎng)會(huì)在IEEE天線與傳播學(xué)會(huì)年度頒獎(jiǎng)儀式上頒發(fā),從2004 年至2020 年共有25 名科學(xué)家獲此殊榮。

天線大師:克勞斯
約翰·丹尼爾·克勞斯(John Daniel Kraus),1910 年6 月28 日生于密歇根州安阿伯 (Ann Arbor, Michigan),2004 年7 月18 日逝世于俄亥俄州特拉華(Delaware, Ohio),享年94歲。
克勞斯于1933年(23歲)從密歇根大學(xué)獲得物理學(xué)博士學(xué)位。畢業(yè)后,克勞斯在密歇根大學(xué)從事核物理學(xué)研究。二戰(zhàn)期間,克勞斯在哈佛大學(xué)為美國海軍從事雷達(dá)對(duì)策研究工作。二戰(zhàn)后,克勞斯加入了俄亥俄州立大學(xué),后來成為該校無線電天文臺(tái)的負(fù)責(zé)人和麥克杜格爾(McDougal)電氣工程與天文學(xué)教授。
克勞斯發(fā)明了螺旋形天線、角反射器天線、柵格天線和其他幾種類型的天線。克勞斯是1985年度IEEE愛迪生獎(jiǎng)?wù)?IEEE Edison Medal) 與1990年度IEEE海因里希·赫茲獎(jiǎng)?wù)拢↖EEE Heinrich Hertz Medal)獲得者。
克勞斯有關(guān)天線的書籍被許多天線人稱之為天線圣經(jīng)。克勞斯這個(gè)名字,開啟了許多天線人的夢想,他是一位名副其實(shí)的天線大師。
